What to do on site?
Hiking trails - WALKING
The Maison de la Forêt is the starting point for seven hiking trails marked out by members of the Club Vosgien.
Many of the area’s treasures are revealed to walkers: the Achiffet rocks, the chapel at Ton, the Col de la Chapelotte, the Val-et-Châtillon waterfall, Saint-Sauveur Abbey…
The trails are graded by difficulty and cater to different groups: families, hikers, experts… Distances vary from 6.5 km for beginners to 23 km for seasoned walkers!
A map showing the 7 trails is available free of charge at reception (on request).

Hosting exhibitions - VOYAGER
The Maison de la Forêt hosts temporary exhibitions for the general public; these serve as gateways to seeing and understanding the world around us. Each year, the themes are refreshed to encourage as many people as possible to visit and return.
Since it opened in 2016, the Maison de la Forêt has hosted over 10 temporary exhibitions on a variety of subjects: wildlife, flora, hunting, mycology, sculpture, painting…
Regular events - SHARE
Every year, from April to October, a range of activities bring the Maison de la Forêt to life.
Whether indoors or outdoors, for children of all ages, these events offer opportunities to make knowledge accessible and to share the excitement of discovery together.
Local experts come to share their ideas, their little secrets and their passion, giving everyone the keys to understanding the world around us; a wonderful excuse to explore!
Playground in the Trees - FUN
Since summer 2024, we've been offering a new play area in the trees.
This large-scale project, built by Amazone Adventure and secured with a shock-absorbing floor by Damien Leclerc Paysage, takes the principle of accrobranche and revisits it to create a family area accessible at all times.
Come and enjoy this playful space, designed with the environment in mind
for children aged 3 to 14.
You'll find 9 different games spread over 4 islands, including a ground zip-line.
This project was made possible thanks to financial support from the European LEADER program, covering around 70% of costs.
Audio Books - LISTEN
